Friends of mine are big fans of Super Mario Bros, particularly of the Yoshi character. For their wedding, I made them a Yoshi quilt (in satin, what a pain! But pretty). For the arrival of their firstborn, I wanted to continue with the tradition and made another (cotton this time!) Yoshi quilt, baby size. I used solid colours: black, white, red and turquoise. For the dragon green I found a nice patterned fabric,which gave some depth to the quilt. Some detail of the quilting. For the first time, I used the free motion quilting foot. I quilted the black borders and inside the red area with this technique. Afterwards, I quilted in the seam in every other row to stabilise the layers. The shoes...totally lined them up incorrectly. The lower two rows are supposed to be the other way around (the inner black border on the left instead of the right). Would you have noticed? Well, there you go. Not too bad then.
