Granny square quilt #4

Image
So finally a granny square quilt with a different background than the tried and tested white ( Here ,  here  and here )! I love how the squares pop out from the navy background.  Finished size 92cm by 119cm (36“ x 47“). Donated to project Linus in February 2024.  here

Granny square quilt #3

Oh I love the granny square quilt pattern! It is fabulous to use up any pre-cut strip and/or scraps of fabric. This one is my third with a white background - a true tried and tested pattern. Links to #1 and #2 for comparison.  Finished size 92cm by 119 cm (36”x49”). Donated to project Linus in February 2024.

Rainbow wave quilt #3

Rainbow Wave #3! This one was made by (still!) using up some pre-cut strips, so the rainbow colours are a bit less bright than in my previous versions ( here and here ). With a more subdued background colour, this one turned out quite different - but very lovely. The pattern is so much fun, love how it comes together from squares to strips to the full quilt.  Size 93 cm x 116 cm (36.5” x 45.5”), donated to Project Linus in February 2024.

After a while of dabbling in the world of cross stitch and knitting this year, I returned to my favourite hobby sewing. I sewed up the quilt top earlier in the year based on this pattern here . I ended up arranging the stripes horizontally (the pattern and sample quilts had them vertically). Not sure if that is a habit from my various strip quilts ( here ,  here ,  here  and last but not least  the first and best ). After my sewing hiatus, I finally got around to sandwich and quilt the blankie, and add a summery binding. The back ich is a mix of grey and white fabrics. My son loved that side best (dinosaurs, of course).  Final size 102 cm x 120 cm (40 “x 48”), will be donated to Project Linus in October or November 2023.
