Infinite calming hearts

Image
I follow the Quilty Love blog and love all the colourful quilts on there. This cute heart quilt got my attention and I purchased the pattern to make up quilts for Project Linus from donated fabrics This version is made up of calming greens on a white background, in contrast to the “fiery” version here . The pattern is easy to follow and kept me busy during a week of Covid isolation. The background is a lovely batik style green fabric. Final size 93 cm by 108 cm (36.5” by 42.5”).  Donated to Project Linus in April 2022.

Infinite fiery hearts

I follow the Quilty Love blog and love all the colourful quilts on there. This  cute heart quilt  got my attention and I purchased the pattern to make up quilts for Project Linus from donated fabrics. This version is made up of bold pinks and one orange strip on a slate background, in contrast to the  “calming” version here . In hindsight, I would probably switch out the inner two pinks, as the right is mostly darker than the left.  The pattern is easy to follow and kept me busy during a week of Covid isolation. The background is made up of a dark navy with white florals and a patch of pink used in the quilt. Final size 93 cm by 108 cm (36.5” by 42.5”).  Donated to Project Linus in April 2022.

Pirate snowball quilt

Image
For this quilt I followed the  snowball fight quilt , which I used before ( floral and animal version). The fabrics were some assorted pirate prints, in blues and sandy browns. They were tied together with the solid colour, a dreamy blue. Unlike the other two versions, I did not arrange the blocks as a pattern, but randomly. The background was a playful dolphin and whales print. The quilting lines followed the inside of the octagons. Final size 88x121 cm (35”x48”). The quilt was donated to Project Linus in April 2022.

Safari adventure

Image
During my last visit to a Project Linus meeting, I took home some donated fabrics. From a few patches of safari photo panels and a wonderful brown giraffe fabric I created this gem. Unfortunately there wasn’t enough of the background fabric, so I used some slate solid fabric from my stash between the panels.  The background was made up of one large print with some white background fabric. The final quilt size is 95cm by 107 cm (37” by 42”). Donated to Project Linus in April 2022.
