Rainbow quilt

 The ultimate scrap quilt! Inspired by this quilt’s pattern and leftover fabric from multiple quilts, I created this rainbow quilt. I cut 2 1/2 by 7 1/2 inch strips, which my 8 yo arranged during a snap lockdown as an art assignment. I am very happy with the result, it’s nice to see these scraps come to shine as a rainbow. I used the multiple zigzag stitch with different colored yarns along the rows. Final size 35“ by 44“ (90 cm  by 110cm).

Donated to project Linus QLD chapter in November 2021.

Little red riding hood granny square quilt

This quilt was made up based on this free tutorial . I used 12 strips of a fairy tale themed jelly roll with white background fabric to create the granny square quilt. I love how the blocks come together, it’s a great project if you only have some time here and there.  To get the size requirements right, I only made 12 blocks. Each block is 9“ before sewing and 8.5“ after sewing. I used 3“ strips (finished width 2 1/2“) in between squares. I used a donated fabric From Project Linus for the backing and a cherry red binding. I quilted around the blocks as well as a smaller square inside the block. Final size is  90cm by 118 cm (36“ by 46“).

Granny square quilt #3

 Oh I love the granny square quilt pattern! It is fabulous to use up any pre-cut strip and/or scraps of fabric. This one is my third with a white background - a true tried and tested pattern. Links to #1 and #2 for comparison.  Finished size 92cm by 119 cm (36”x49”). Donated to project Linus in February 2024.

Stoplight quilt

With the remainder of the jelly roll used for this quilt with the addition of some solid fabrics, I made a stoplight quilt. The PDF of this free pattern can be downloaded  here . I’ve sewn up a total of 30 blocks, arranged in 5 rows and 6 columns. The final dimension of the quilt is 92cm by 126cm (36 inch by 50inch).  I used some funny pug fabric and some leftover blocks from the diamond quilt for the back. Finished the quilt with a bright cherry red binding. This quilt was Donated to Project Linus QLD chapter. Hope it will find a new happy owner.
